Two weeks ago I visited this wonderful new guesthouse nearby Leuven so I had to explore the surroundings too. I did the Meerdaalroute (32 kilometers via Toerisme Vlaams Brabant) a cycling route that combines Leuven with the surrounding nature and of course I added some cool spots to the route too. Let’s see what caught my eye!

Kasteel van Arenburg, build in the 16th century and now in use as part of the University of Leuven

Martelarenplein in Leuven

Fragma Restaurant in Leuven has a lovely, and bit hidden, garden terrace in the back.

City hall Leuven dates back to the 15th century

Thelma Coffee & Design, one of the selling points of the Petite Passport Guides in Belgium

A good lunch spot is Koffie & Staal in Leuven. They also have a small outside terrace.

Biking through the nature surrounding Leuven

Stop at Zoet Water. I’ve had a delicious ice cream at nICE facing the lake, but the owners of the guesthouse I was staying also recommended restaurant Spaans Dak (the white building you see on the picture).
