When you cross the bridge that connects Copenhagen with Malmö, you arrive in Skåne, Sweden’s southernmost province. The hilly landscape with grain fields connects photogenic villages filled with colorful houses and here and there a hidden farm that houses a great restaurant. People who like a bit of silence, panoramic views, beaches, design and art will love it here. These are my 10 absolute highlights. Don’t forget to add them to your itinerary.
One-room bed and breakfast TypeO Loft has a panoramic view and is decorated with the best design items you can think of.
The best pasta of Skåne is made at Pastafabriken. Reserve a table in their lovely garden or take it home with you by ordering it in their deli.
Brocante stop in a farm house. Definitely go here if you love speckled table wear.
The outdoors is a big thing in Sweden with all of its forests and nature. At Kaseberge Hideout, a shop and cafe, you can buy all things you need for a camping trip.
The best pizza on the island. Orum 119 is a restaurant, but they also have a hotel, boutique, bakery and ice cream shop on site.

Skåne has many beaches. Knäbäckshusens is apparently the most beautiful beach as the forest almost goes into the sea and there’s only a small beach strip. It was quite busy in July. You can also try Sandhammaren, which is a more widespread beach.
Chef Daniel Berlin is soon opening a restaurant and hotel in Skåne, but the wine bar is already open.
Slightly more North you’ll find Wanås, a sculpture garden with a restaurant and hotel. Take your time to visit.
