Since Maastricht is our destination of the week, I went on the hunt for lovely new addresses that absolutely deserve a spot on your list. The southernmost city in the Netherlands truly excels at the good life: long, lingering dinners, a rich wine and beer culture, and, of course, plenty of art and nature. Time to book that weekend getaway soon!
Studio Nosh has been open for a year now and is a wonderful culinary shop and coffee bar, but they are organizing something incredibly exciting this August: A Culinary Slow Living Retreat. Trust me, you’ll want to be there. And if you happen to be reading this at a later date, just check their Instagram for more event tips.
Claes Collective is a brand-new shop located at the far end of the chic Stokstraat. Expect a curated mix of new items alongside beautiful pre-loved pieces.
For dinner, head over to Tous, where Southern European cuisine takes center stage. By the way, they are also open for lunch.
The Lebanese restaurant Safar has unfortunately closed its doors, but they are still hosting pop-up dinners. Keep a close eye on their Instagram for upcoming dates.
The team behind Koffie bij Joost en Maartje has opened a Kiosk. Your new go-to for coffee-to-go.
An old favorite that has been open for years and remains highly recommended for a film-and-dinner night: Lumiere.
And for inspiring exhibitions, look no further than Bonnefanten and Fotomuseum aan ’t Vrijthof.
