Journal

You recharge by staying in an aesthetically pleasing environment, your kids want the primary colors and an entertainment team. Luckily there are more and more hospitality entrepreneurs who got kids, didn’t know where to stay, and created a hotel or holiday home themselves. Et voilà: these are 10 of the most beautiful ones.

REPERE SAUVAGE NORMANDY

Repère Sauvage is just two hours from Paris and kids will enjoy the nature and the activities they organize in the Kids Club

AMMOS CRETE

The founder of Ammos Hotel in Crete created this hotel years ago as adults-only but now all of his favorite guests grew up, got kids and now it’s open for every age. You’ll see strollers next to the design pieces. Kids can hang out at the pool that faces the sea.

CLUB B DUINBERGEN

This is a beautiful setting, but then you haven’t seen the view yet. Club B Duinbergen looks out over the sea and the only thing you want is to stare outside. Kids have other priorities though: they can play on the beach in front of the house, sleep in a bunk bed and have many toys and board games to choose from (okay, plus a big tv).

DOMES ZEEN CHANIA CRETE

While you enjoy reading a book near the pool, kids can enjoy themselves at the special Kids Club or swim in the private pool some of the houses have. Domes Zeen Chania has everything – restaurants, spa, gym, lovely rooms, so you basically don’t have to leave the property and truly rewind.

MAISON HUBERT BORDEAUX

Maison Hubert is super-kids friendly. They even rent out strollers and baby carriers plus inside the rooms they have a whole range of goodies such as bath products by Minois Paris, games, play mat, a Stokke high chair, a changing table etc etc.

SÃO LOURENÇO DO BARROCAL ALENTEJO

You quickly get jealous of kids here as São Lourenço do Barrocal organizes so many lovely activities that you would like to join yourself too. They can go on a treasure hunt across the property, help make an animal shelter, work in the vegetable farm or make cookies. And if you can let them do their thing, you can take a nap near the pool (or go for one of the spa treatments).

SIMMERHUS TERSCHELLING

Simmerhus means Summer House in Fries (a Dutch dialect) and is a house that sleeps 6 (a double bed in a big bedroom upstairs and two smaller bunk beds downstairs). Kids can play in the garden, read books or play games. And then there’s the beautiful nature of Terschelling. Sunsets, never-ending beaches and a Dark Sky park. I can’t recommend this part of The Netherlands enough.

PLAYA PLAYA OOSTDUINKERKE

Playa Playa is a holiday home near the beach of West Vlaanderen. Expect a house with colorful accents, a bunk bed for kids and a garden to enjoy the warmer days.
