This past week I’ve been working on a guide for a Greek hotel, which means I mostly spent my days behind the computer. Still, there are plenty of new spots live on the site, this week’s Petite Weekly has an oyster theme (yes, the season has officially started), and I’ve come across a few cool updates I’d love to share.
When I visited Soixante in Antwerp last spring – where the menu focuses on local ingredients – they told me about their oysters from Oesterij in Zeeland. Every year they host an oyster festival in Yerseke, so I went on Saturday to taste a few of them. They were absolutely delicious, though I’d recommend visiting on a quieter day when you can join a tour and enjoy oysters by the Oosterschelde in the sunshine. That said: the oyster season has now officially begun!
Beyond Soixante, a few other spots on the site are also worth going to for oysters: Barracuda in Amsterdam, Rosamar in Lisbon, and Noisy Oyster in London. Planning a budget city break to Rotterdam? Café Marseille serves oysters for €2 on Sundays.
