Nothing beats watching a sunset at the beach from a beach club: feet in the sand, food on the table, and good music in the background. In the Netherlands, a long stretch of coastline runs all the way from the Wadden Islands down to Cadzand in Zeeland. We’ve selected four of the most beautifully designed beach clubs, each worth a visit for their views, food, and laid-back atmosphere.
Officially opened in 1999, but completely redecorated and renovated in 2020, De Republiek is definitely the most beautiful beach club in The Netherlands, if not in Europe. Designed by Anne Claus, who you may know of Morgan & Mees among other projects, she opted for a calm interior with 5-metres long windows that can open up completely to let the outside come in. De Republiek is a permanent beach club and is open all day long.

The newest addition of this list is Hito in Scheveningen that opened the doors in August 2025. Inspired by Spain, and especially Basque Country the beach club offers all day food, small dishes and lots of wine. Hito is also opened during the day – from breakfast to dinner – and has a spacious terrace and a restaurant inside that consists of wooden chairs and tables, burgundy red accents and a striking wine cabinet. They also have a thing for records.

Inspired by the Mexican beach town of Tulum, beach club Tulum in Noordwijk is a laid-back bohemian paradise. Open from mid-February to the end of October, it serves everything from pizzas and chicken skewers to fresh, healthy salads. With its terrace set right on the sand, summer dining here means enjoying the ultimate beach vibe with your feet in the sand. And whatever you do – stay for the sunset.

Piatti in Zandvoort is an Italian-inspired beach club with a spacious terrace and a view over the North Sea, and some kite-surfers. Inside you can have an Italian lunch or dinner in a warm atmosphere where tables for two combine perfectly with a vintage lounge set. They are open all-year round.
