WHERE TO GO IN 2022

January is the time to start planning your next getaway. Whether that will be a road trip, a city trip or a holiday on a beautiful beach let’s see which destinations have to be on your agenda!

Valencia, Spain

European city trip

Valencia is this year’s World Design Capital and therefor a reason to travel to the so-called new Barcelona. Yours Boutique Hotel opened the doors just in time for this year-long event.

Rotterdam, Netherlands

Close to home

Depot Boijmans van Beuningen just opened its doors as the world’s first museum depot you can visit (with a restaurant by Jim de Jong on top). The architects of MVRDV have another cool 2022 event on the agenda. At the end of May they are opening a Luchtbrug throughout the city, over the Coolsingel. Expect to see this in papers around the world, so add it to your list as well. Plus The Rotterdam Guide will be published this year full of great spots to check out.

Samos, Greece

Beach holiday

As Casa Cook will open a brand new hotel on Samos in May, we now have a reason to visit the Greek island.

Bodo, Norway

Road trip

For those of you who are into wellness and yoga, keep an eye on Wes Paternotte’s Instagram Page. The founder of Delight Yoga in Amsterdam and the Mandali Retreat in North Italy will open a new retreat in Bodo, Norway this year. Also hop on a ferry to the Lofoten for ‘Kitchen on the Edge of the World’ an exclusive 4-day gourmet getaway with chefs like Niklas Ekstedt (June), Margot Henderson (June) and James Lowe (September). Or visit the Kaviar Factory for the Ai Wei Wei exhibition.

Sydney, Australia

Long distance city tripĀ

Ace Hotel is opening its first outpost down under. In Surry Hills you can now combine a visit to Paramount Coffee or Nomad with a stay at this cool hotel. Also look out to the end of 2022 when the Art Gallery of NSW will open the brand new Sydney Modern Project, designed by SANAA.
