OFICINA AMSTERDAM

Oficina is a new canteen-style cafe and restaurant in Amsterdam-West.

Naiara and Zana

Owners Naiara and Zana started working together when Naiara, who is known as chef Nana, did several catering events and needed a graphic designer. They became friends and dreamt about opening their own cafe. Fast-forward to 2021 when Oficina is a fact. The idea is to bring Naiara’s knowledge of foreign kitchens, she lived and worked in Spain’s Basque Country and Korea and travelled across the globe, to the Jan van Galenstraat.

Carte Blanche dinners

This results in daily lunch specials and a carte blanche dinners on Friday and Saturday evening. Where you will show up at 5pm, take a seat on the communal tables and be surprised by the 5-course menu. You can also stop by for a coffee, lunch, or some pintxos with natural wine in the afternoon. And last but not least, they will soon open a tea bar upstairs.

Thomas Trum

The interior is also a mix of inspiration from their travels. The wooden bar feels Japanese, while the Artek chairs have their roots in Finland. The green art work above the bar (which hides the bar upstairs) is made by Dutch artist Thomas Trum.
