TRIED & TESTED
Boutique apartments in Baixa

Most striking feature:
Baixa House felt like home immediately. I started making a map of my own apartment to try to see what I can do in my home to get the same atmosphere. Talking about an inspiring place, right? Sometimes a place doesn’t feel like a hotel, but as your own apartment you never want to leave again. Baixa House gave me the same feeling. Maria, the concept designer, told me that every apartment (12 of them) started with a carpet from the Alentejo region. Out of the color combination of that carpet they started decorating the apartments. If there were red accents in the carpets there was also a red pillow for example. The apartments have a simple decoration but don’t let that mislead you in thinking it’s easy to decorate a place that way. Maria told me they, the team who worked on creating Baixa House, spend ages on flea markets around Europe to collect the chairs, vases, wallpaper etc. And they made the apartments into the places with a lot of light, details of the past and overal provided with all the things you need when you’re away (wifi, enough power points, a hair dryer, a coffee machine and even fresh flowers). My apartment, Jerónimos (all the apartments are named after parks in Lisbon), had a living room, a kitchen, a bathroom and a bedroom. And then the location? Couldn’t be better. Right in the middle of Lisbon. Close to the Museum of Design and Fashion, shops and restaurants. And the good thing is: because every apartment is different you could stay here time after time and will be inspired every time you’ll be there!
